How to look after my candle

  • Take your candle out of the packaging if it has some and place on a heat resistant coaster
  • Trim the wick to 5mm every time before lighting
  • For a nice even burn with minimal tunnelling ensure you burn your candle for a minimum of 3 hours and a maximum of 4 hours
  • If the flame becomes large and flickers then the wick needs trimming. Extinguish the flame allow to cool then trim the wick to 5mm
  • Avoid blowing your candle out. Either use the tin lid to extinguish the flame, or if in a glass container use a wick dipper of snuffer
  • Keep the wax pool free of debris
  • Keep the burning candle away from drafts, fans and air currents
  • Always burn your candle within sight
  • Stop lighting your candle when there is 1cm of wax left in the container

  • Place your candles away from soft furnishings, curtains, fabrics and keep them away from draughts
  • Keep children and pets away
  • Do not leave candles burning when you are not in the room or likely to fall asleep
  • Keep burning candles at least 10cm apart from each other
  • Always place on a heat resistant surface
  • Ensure that hair is kept away from a naked flame
  • Use a snuffer or a wick dipper to extinguish the flame and double check that they are out!
  • Don't light a candle under a shelf it can burn the surface above and ignite
  • Put candles in proper holders to ensure they aren't at risk of falling over
