How long will my candles burn for?

It is hard to give an accurate answer to this question as there are so many variables. As stated on our candles the tins will burn for approximately 30 hours and the larger glass candles approximately 40 hours. The time will vary on the room it is in, the temperature or any draughts so try to keep these to a minimum.

How should I look after my candle?

The most important thing to remember is to trim the wick to around 5mm between lighting, if this is not done it can lead to the wick drooping and drowning in the wax pool. Allow your candle to burn for a minimum of 3 hours and a maximum of 4 hours. This allows the candle to create a melt pool and minimise tunnelling.

Why are your candles made from  Soy wax rather than paraffin wax and what is the difference?

  • Soy wax comes from soy beans and is 100% sustainable.
  • Soy wax has a cleaner burn than traditional paraffin wax.
  • Paraffin wax is a refined gasoline by-product.
  • Soy produces zero petro-soot compared to traditional paraffin candles.
  • Soy produces a cleaner burn which means no sooty residue around the house which is always a plus.
  • Soy is non toxic.
  • Soy is 100% biodegradable
  • Easy to clean up spills with just soap and water.
  • Soy releases fragrance easier than paraffin wax.

Where does your soy wax come from?

The raw material comes from a number of accredited and approved suppliers in USA, Europe and Asia. Soy wax is naturally sourced from soya bean oil and is extremely environmentally friendly and sustainable.

Why are our candles not all the same in appearance?

All our candles are produced by hand in small batches and although the same measurements are used there may be some variables such as in colour. Using soy wax there may sometimes be tiny air bubbles on the surface and this is all normal for soy and will not affect the burning of your candles. Also the different scents may colour the wax very slightly, all of these things give our candles a truly unique handmade appearance.
